Community Life

Children's Ministry
At Calvary we are excited about ministering to children because Jesus was excited about ministering to children! We have clear Biblical instruction to be passionate about teaching the Truth of God’s life-changing Word, to the next generation. We embrace this ministry, not only within the family at Calvary, but also actively, to the children of our community. We echo the words of Jesus, to “Let the little children come!”
Discipleship
Our Biblical Purpose is simple - To Make Disciples – Redeemed sinners transformed by the Power of the Gospel who become Christ followers being molded into His image and in turn making other Disciples there by Glorifying God.
Men's Prayer Time
Each Monday we have a short devotional and then pray. This is set-up for come and go for those who have to leave early for work.
Mid-Week
Once agian, on Wednesday Evenings we dive into the Word! Our children are involved in Sonseekers a program developed by us to minister to the children in a Biblical based manner. The curriculum used was developed by "New Tribes" for use with unreached people groups.
Small Groups
Small Group Bible Studies are easily accessible, Christ-centered, and centered around God's Word. These provide an opportunity for people to share with one another in an informal, relaxed atmosphere with the objective of knowing Christ.

Why Choose Calvary?

In choosing a church family, you look for things important to you. Here is what is important to Calvary. »

Discipleship

The purpose of Calvary is to glorify God by obediently making and equipping disciples of Christ, in Bristol and throughout the world. We believe this is accomplished as we grow in our faith and in the knowledge of His Word, and then teach others His truth so that they might live in obedience to Him. This growth in grace is a process that is accomplished in the power of the Spirit and under the authority of God’s Word.

Biblical Preaching

In a world of shifting allegiances and faulty foundations, we seek to stand firmly upon the truth of scripture. The Word of God is preached exegetically, in its entirety. The Bible is the Word of God and we are accountable to it. Everything we believe and do is instructed by the Bible. Everything we teach is rooted in the Bible, giving application to today’s world.

Fellowship

At Calvary, we are a community of Christ followers helping others to follow Jesus. The transformational love of Jesus provides the context of biblical community. Christianity is not a spectator sport. Authentic community is a vital part of the believer’s experience as we engage relationally with one another. We believe Christian growth is best done in the context of community. We bear one another’s burdens and develop deeper relationships. We are strengthened to go forth and be salt and light in our community and city.

The Gospel

The Gospel is the Good News about God who created His world in perfection, man who rebelled against his Creator, and how the Creator gave Himself to rescue His rebellious creatures. The Gospel is central at Calvary. Jesus Christ came from the Father into the world, lived a perfect life that mankind could not, died on the cross in the rebel’s place, was buried and was proved to be the Son of God through His resurrection.
